Lean product + traction
Digital health innovation requires a product and its uptake by customers.
Today's gold standard 'lean product' development process involves creating a 'minimally viable product' and then continually iterating on it based on user feedback to achieve (and then maximize) product-market fit. This 'lean' approach means you're not wasting limited time and resources building unimportant features.
'Traction' is evidence of achieving product-market fit (e.g., 10,000 recurring monthly users) gained through scientific experimentation on product and marketing. Beyond product development, it is arguably the most important way of demonstrating the viability of your innovation (and your business).
If you're interested in learning more both concepts (and techniques for implementing them) are excellently described in the following two books, and I highly recommend a read (or a listen):
The Lean Product Playbook by Dan Olsen
Traction: How Any Startup Can Achieve Explosive Customer Growth by Gabriel Weinberg and Justin Mares
I look forward to expanding on both topics in the future.
